What do you do when injuries stand between you and your football career? This young man @nede_nede3 didn’t let injuries put him down! He shared his story which we found inspiring!
We always dream and see us going places but we’re never assured of a future in regards to our dreams. This young and multi-talented young man is a good example. He started his football career at a young age. He played for his high school team, Jamhuri. He also played for several teams including Rodney Strikers, Baba Dogo United, Kariobangi Sharks, Kangemi All-stars, Gor Mahia Youth and Police FC. His preferred positions were midfield and defence.
At the age of 24 he was forced to retire from football due to recurring injuries. He still has hope of coming back to the game even though these injuries blurred his dream of playing at the highest level he ever dreamed of. What broke his heart most was that, each time he was close to signing a contract, he would get a very serious injury. He broke his leg at some point and realized that maybe God wanted him to serve Him in a totally different field other than the field of football.
This is when he revived his dream and his passion for fashion. A dream that he started when he was in class 7. He would create designs and ensure that tailors delivered them as he pictured them. He recovered from his leg injury but he still experienced pain whenever he put it into action and he also suffered a second injury on the same leg. This is where his life took a turn.
He couldn’t afford to join a design school but that couldn’t stop him! He learnt how to sew through a lady called Charity, YouTube and books. He is thankful that God has been faithful on this new career path. Despite the challenges and bumpy road Nede has always had a special person by his side. When he started on his football career this person was present and is still present during his journey of designing. This special person is Malin, she is phenomenal, what would we do without sisters!
“I love watching movies, eating and being creative. My dream right now is to be one of the finest ankara street wear designer Eastland has ever produced and just to make everyone who matters to me very happy.”
“My only regret would be that I never got to play at the highest level of football in this country and the highest level I magined I would play when I was growing up.”
Some of the football players who have worn his designs are @ogadaolunga, Ernest Wendo, Doreen Nabwire, Dennis Orenge, Eric Juma, amongst others. @ovellah is the official @mahnede_designs ambassador.
